School Site Council (SSC)
California law requires that each public school will convene a school site council which is charged with development and approval of the school's improvement plan. School Site Council meetings are open to the public and prior notice must be given before the council meets to take any action. Agendas are posted in the main office and/or via the Parent Square app in accordance with California Education §Code 35147, which requires public posting at least 72 hours in advance of the meeting.
How do I become involved?
Individuals who serve on the school site council are elected by their peers for a two year term. At the conclusion of terms, the school will announce vacancies and call for nominations. Once nominees have applied, digital elections ballots will be distributed to the groups in which a vacancy exists with at least seven days to submit their vote.
