welcome to Gary High School's class of 2025 graduation ceremony present this evening welcome superintendent Darren and board member Dr Roberta Perlman I'm thankful and honored to have our parents grandparents family members caretakers friends and those standing in support of our graduates here tonight I want to thank the Gary staff who have taught mentored and worked diligently to make this a memorable school year lastly but more importantly welcome and congratulations to the class of 2025 at this time I also want to recognize and thank our ASB group for helping and I want to recognize and thank our nordics the students in the gold gowns are the top 25 juniors in the class of 2026 thank you nordics graduation is a time when families and friends can reflect on all the years of education which may have started at ala No 1 from Alcott Madison up okay Madison Philadelphia Lexington Fremont they are and Simons graduation is a time to celebrate the accumulation of years in schooling enter prepare for what the future holds it is a celebration of an accomplishment and at the same time it is a celebration of a new beginning each senior is beginning a new pathway some will proudly serve in our country's military and I thank you in advance for your service some of you are going away to a 4-year college and some will attend a local for your University or a community college While others will begin their career Pathways at a trade school as freshmen the class of 2025 hadn't navigate a new campus higher expectations in the challenges that come along with being a high school age student tonight we leave an open chair to recognize our classmates who would have graduated this evening our thoughts and prayers are with their friends and Families the last 4 years and for many of our graduates the last 6 years it has been a great pleasure to serve as your principal the numerous conversations the moments the parent needs the home visits the field trips and the challenges have all been memorable as you leave Gary High School I hope you remember that someone and George in a generation before you someone in your family history busted their butts just to survive to put you in this position to bust your butt and thrive I hope I've inspired you I hope you are walking out of High School a better person and proud that you came to this school and I hope you accept the challenge to go thrive you have proven to me the district and to the state you are capable lead our and show this country that you are the best that we can offer and when you come into a position of power and position of wealth or a position of influence pass it forward now go do it greatness is waiting for you go Thrive class of 25 congratulation it's my great pleasure to now brings to the stage our Gary high school principal Mr Rody lean Gary staff and administration family and friends my name is Ashley Alvarado Valencia and I'm proud to be here as a class of 2025 solidarity this is truly a surreal moment to be here standing surrounded by the faces we've grown up with some since kindergarten and some more recently it feels as if we've leaned and now we're here dressed in our caps and gowns and standing right on the edge of something new I know it's easy to feel scared about what's next growing up sounds like something far away until it's happening to you but aging and consequently changing isn't something to fear rather it's a privilege to grow to evolve and to become the people we're meant to be throughout High School we've learned we laughed we cried but through it all we persevered sometimes we think this moment and this diploma is the end but truly it's just a small Milestone of the many to come there's still so much left to live so much left to learn and thank you so much left to dream so as I stand here before you all today I urge you don't be afraid to make mistakes as you grow into your own person you are worthy of everything good that is coming your way and have you ever forget that remember this feeling the excitement the fear and the love that has brought us all here today I'll finally wrap it up with these words for Lana Dory be the ark the life is living be the soul of the world is living or are you only not forgiving just for taking live life like no 1's listening thank you class of 2025 and now I have the privilege of bringing to the stage our Victorian Mr Leonardo Castro B7 Clan the unmatched class of 2025 my name is Nardo Castro and I'm honored to be here today with all of you up until this moment we've all envisioned this day differently but here we are some of us prefer our outfits hours in advance anxious for the day to come while others wore the same fit they had on for the last under their can you guys which 1 I we all know which 1 is it Laden is of course uh whatever the case here we are at this point in the speech I'm supposed to tell everyone about how successful the class of 2025 is maybe take the time to speculate on the definition success but there is no need because here we are take a look around and you will see success success not only in faculty and students but everyone here especially the families whether it is your parents your grandparents or whoever supported you in your journey your success My Success they think they are here to celebrate your accomplishments graduates sorry but you know that they are here to celebrate their own a class accomplishments because your success tonight is inseparable from theirs also congratulations to those who done it mainly alone after all we're all aware of families can be fragile we often have no control over our daily lives we live in a world that oftentimes in the last few weeks we had to go when we had to go somewhere many thought of the possibility of being detained by Ice even here now many of us consider the idea on the way here and yet here we are many of you many of you will go on to college trade school military but whatever you decide to do ensure that your success continues to be shared with your families and loved ones sharing our success comes in many forms whether be sharing our wealth time for compassion we must give back to those who have allowed us to be standing here today give back by showing up give back by taking time out of your day to listen give back by being everything you are supposed to be which is only defined by you and so there we are and on the theme of giving I give you Gary High School class of 2025 next to the stage our class president Cristina Finch good evening parents Guardian staff alumni and class of 2025 and everyone here is supporting someone I'm Christina Finch and it's my honor to be standing here before all of you today as your agent be president after everything we've been through these past 4 years this is it today marks the new start in our lives I can finally say after 4 long years congratulations Vikings we made it everyone has had their fair share of struggles maybe they even been expressed out loud or dealt with silently but we pushed through we we did not let those struggles stop us high school has taught us many lessons as of today we're on our own we're not those kids in seventh grade suddenly getting 2 weeks off it's your choice whether or not to use those lessons that have given up until now you might not know where you're going from here on out or you might already have your whole future plan but remember it's your decision on which pet you want to follow although it may not seem like it you have time you have time to decide what you want to be whether it's your dream to come um as a kid to become a firefighter or you always dreamed of becoming a doctor or hair stylist believe it or not you have time from today award we are no longer those young kids with Big Dreams it's our responsibilities to figure out what we want to be and pursue those dreams you have the choice whether or not you want to go far or if he wants to stay close with family and friends whether you whether whatever path you choose follow it no 1 knows what you want to do more than yourself I've heard many different opinions about um where to go after high school don't stay close to home or don't go far but at the end of the day it's entirely up to you just do it do what it's probably the question that leaders in your mind but the that's the question you have to answer what do you want to do if your someone else's suggestions that let me tell you let me tell you something life is full of unexpected things you won't know how far you go unless you don't try it regardless of whether it's 25 miles or 1,000 miles is your choice as our time here is now ending I would like to thank class of 2025 we push ourselves to the best of our abilities we didn't do it alone though we had help from others um our families friends and teachers we succeeded in our own ways and here we are sitting together to honor all of our hard work we put in as we finish high school thank you class of 2025 for an unforgettable 4 years I hope life gives you many wonderful memories experience and decisions I can say that I'm proud of all of you congratulations and his story in the beginning please welcome to the stage senior class president Hugo Damian Santos Cruz good evening fellow seniors and ministers family and friends my name is Damian Santos your senior class president it is my pleasure and honor to represent The Graduate ating class of 2025 and Gary High School I want to start off by congratulating you all you all deserve to be here whether you believe that or not you know there are many people who won't believe in you many will Hold You Down but you being here today so that they were wrong to put you down I want you all to know that you worked very hard to be here and you deserve to be here you to feel proud of yourself you should feel proud you deserve this it seems like just yesterday that we barely setting foot into school for the first time in preschool many of us cried many of us were unsure what to expect what you think I know that this day today was the last thing on our minds back then maybe not even a thought fast forward to our first day of freshman year of high school it was something truly unique for all of us to wear uncomfortable masks sit at desks and Plexiglas and it was the first time we've been in school in person for a while since quarantine and on top of that it was our first day of high school who knew what to expect but after 4 years of artwork you stand here today as graduates those 4 years went by like a blink of an eye but many of us changed a lot I know we are not all the same kids we were on our first day of high school maybe we made new friends picked up better habits change our style became more so or less social life has given us so many lessons these past few years we stand here today as different people as we graduate today we start a new chapter in our life as young mature adults we are no longer the kids who keeps going hop on the Xbox or Playstation or play your favorite games without wearing the world after today we are stronger than ever and we leave that chapter of our lives behind and start a new chapter maybe we'll find time to enjoy the childhood Pleasures now then but after today we must focus on building a new secure future for ourselves as we leave here today I want to wish you all luck and great success in whatever path you choose I pray that you all find success in your new chapter of life and you all find happiness and 2 The Pursuit of Happiness is a god-given right written in our Constitution and our hearts and I wish us all the best of luck of in finding this happiness as a senior class president I'm proud of each and every 1 of you for making it here today I'm graduating I'm proud of who you've become for all the hard work you've done these past 4 years I wish you all the best in life thank you this time according to the laws of the State of California and the regulations as established by School District Board of Education I hereby certify that Gary High School's class of 2025 has met all requirements and I present this class to you as candidates for graduation Mr nulls will you please come to the stage and accept our class of 2025 good evening to our parents family staff and community and being an Old Coach I want to hear some noise when I say this good evening class of 2025 as your superintendent it is my honor to be here celebrating the graduating class of 2025 you guys did it I was sitting in my office this morning and I know the test data is still embargoed by the state but let me say this I want to I want to give you a little hint Gary high school out of all High School and Pomona had the largest increase this year out of all of the high schools so congratulations this year somehow you finished this year without being replaced by artificial intelligence you remember people telling you that though I do hear that raise your hand if you did I hear that chat GPT helps with some of your essays no judgment no judgment today marks not just the end of your high school Journey but the beginning of a new chapter filled with opportunity Challenge and growth you've shown your resilience determination and heart qualities that will carry you far beyond this accomplishment as you step into the future remember that success is not just measured by the Milestones that you reach but it's by the Integrity the compassion and the Courage by which you live live each day it's all also how you treat everybody for our parents and Guardians you've also earned this celebration too pay a students let's give him a big round of applause and having students that once were in high school parents you get to officially retire from asking your student did you do your homework today or what did you do in school today and getting those 1-word answers nothing I didn't do nothing those questions will be replaced by new ones I assure you for the class of 2025 we are proud of each and every 1 of you and the entire Pomona Unified School District stands with you as you take your next step into the future again congratulations to the class of 2025 Dr Perlman with you this time as superintendent of the Pomona unified go District in behalf of the faculty and your principal I accept and verify the class of 2025 has met all requirements it gives me great pleasure to present this class to you as candidates for graduation thank you Mr nulls um good evening it's a pleasure to be celebrating this special day with you that is that I keep going um you guys know this book yeah you may have read it in an elementary school um I have a Gary High okay so congratulations today is your day you're off to great your fine arts department is finer than fine pencils paints create masterpieces of both heart and mind where's that rhyme with Leon I could not think of 1 but your principal loves you he second to none ASB Lions dragons your talented bold I'm humbled and inspired you've broken the mold so on to the College and Career of your choice on your journey please stand up for those with no voice be bold be brave be kind and be true there's a Viking that always lives inside of you so students we love you and wish you good things we've given you Roots now we're giving you wings congratulations Gary
